Frederick Arthur Bridgman, 1847-1928, was an American artist known for his paintings of "Orientalist" subjects. In Algeria and Egypt he executed 300 sketches as material for later oil paintings that attracted immediate attention. He became known as "the American Gérôme", his popularity in America never waned. Frederick Arthur Bridgman paintings were collected at Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, Temple collection, Pennsylvania. Recently, Bridgman art have sold at auction in the price range of $250,000 USD to $350,000 USD.
